William Disney (4th great grandfather)

William was born in 1798 in Draycott and died after 7th April 1861 but in the second quarter that year. He married Sarah Gregory of Breaston at St Chads on 6th November 1821. He was an agricultural labourer all his working life.

They had 12 children; Joseph (1822), Jane (1823), Lucy (1825), Thomas (1825), Samuel (1829), William (1830), Ann (1831), Sarah (1832), Mary (1836), Eliza (1838), James (1840) and George (1842).

1841: also Ann, Sarah, Mary, Eliza and James
1851: also Eliza (lace ?), James and George
1861: also George (ag lab), Eliza (now Hinds a cotton factory worker) and her daughter Elizabeth (1860)
1871: Sarah and Eliza (operative) and her children Elizabeth (operative) and Thomas (1)
1881: Sarah, Eliza (cotton winder), Thomas and Sarah's son James (Ag lab)
1891: possibly James living in same home alone
1901: possibly James living there working as a roof thatcher.

In 1841 Joseph, Thomas and Samuel were on a farm. Lucy and William were on another farm and Jane was ?

James Disney (5th great grandfather)

James was christened in Langar on 1st April 1752. He married Jane Wild in Owthorpe and they moved to Ockbrook and then to Draycott. He probably died before the 3rd quarter 1837.

They had one son that I know about, William. 

Introduction

This is somewhere to store my findings of my maternal grandmother's family tree. I'm using several sources including BMD, Ancestry.com and a distant cousin I found on the Internet by accident. 

Samuel Disney (my 8th great grandfather)

Samuel died in 1725 in Radcliffe on Trent. He had at least one one son whom he called Samuel.

Samuel Disney (7th great grandfather)

Samuel was born about 1701. He married Mary Stephenson on 28th July 1719 in Keyworth and they had at least two children, Samuel born 1723 and William.

Samuel remarried, Hannah Musson on 11th April 1740 in Keyworth and they had a son, Thomas in 1742.

Thomas settled in Keyworth and amongst his descendants is my distant cousin.

William moved to Quorn where there are more Disneys.

Samuel Disney (6th great grandfather)

Samuel was christened in Keyworth on 16th October 1723. 

On 24th June 1751 he married Mary Gulstone in Langar where they had one son. There are four girls christened in Langar that are probably James' sisters; Ann 2nd April 1755, Mary 4th March 1759, Elizabeth 13th June 1762 and another Mary 2nd April 1765.
